In case you are a fan of wandering, the motorbike is a good choice for you. It takes you approximately 3 hours to travel from Ho Chi Minh City to Vung Tau.
There are a lot of things you need to bear in mind. One of them is to bring a lightweight backpack, mineral water, a raincoat, and snacks if necessary. Additionally, you should bring cash, ATM card and some belongings such as identity card, driving license, and vehicle registration certificate. Personal items cannot be missed. They include toothpaste, toothbrush, sunglasses, sunscreen, and shoes.

In terms of motorbikes, remember some points as below:

  • Ensure all the tires in good conditions.
  • Check the battery, horn, headlight, backlight, etc in advance

You can choose one of three below options to reach Vung Tau from Ho Chi Minh city.

Option 1: You follow the National Highway 1A. After crossing Dong Nai bridge, you drive a further distance of about 30 km to a roundabout. From here, you turn right at  Highway 51. You continue to travel more about 100 km to Vung Tau City.

Option 2: You can choose the route from Cat Lai ferry (belongs to District 2 in Ho Chi Minh City to Nhon Trach in Dong Nai). You go straight to National Highway 51 entrance to Nhon Trach Industrial Park. It is nearly 100 km to reach Vung Tau City.

Option 3: You follow the National Highway 1A, across the Dong Nai bridge. After that, you drive along Highway 51 to Vung Tau with a distance of 27 km to see a sign to Long Son. This is a shortcut heading to Vung Tau. This road is newly come into use with less traffic and picturesque landscape of a fishing village.

e. Traveling to Vung Tau by hydrofoil
