In May, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc agreed to continue visa waivers for five European countries (England, France, Germany, Spain, Italy) starting from July 1st, 2018 with a period of 3 years.

At the Government’s meeting on May 3rd, the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Environment issued a statement on the continuation of visa waivers for citizens of five European countries. Vietnam has a visa exemption for citizens of five European countries to June 30th, 2018 expired. Renewal, visa exemption is 1 year.

After collecting to the opinions of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and the related ministries, the Prime Minister has agreed to continue the visa exemption for five European countries, starting from July 1st, 2018 and has raised the visa exemption period from 1 up to 3 years.

According to the Minister, Head of the Government Office, Mai Tien Dung, the visa policy and the promotion of tourism have helped Vietnam maintain the growth rate of international visitors to approximately 30%. In addition, Minister Mai Tien Dung emphasized that not only the increase of the visa exemption period for the citizens of five European countries but also the improvement other visa granting policies have brought remarkable results.
