The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has granted a license to Bamboo Airways to put into operation a direct air route between Hanoi and Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic.
The direct air service connecting Hanoi and Prague will be operated by Bamboo Airways, using a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner that can carry as many as 294 passengers per journey.
A representative of the airline stated their plans to conduct the first flight on the Hanoi - Prague route on March 29, with the firm operating two flights per week subsequently. This figure could increase depending on the demand amongst passengers in the future.
Each flight on the Hanoi-Prague leg is expected to last for 11 hours and 20 minutes, whilst the Prague – Hanoi leg will take 10 hours and 20 minutes.
As a result, this new route will significantly shorten the flight time of between 14 and 19 hours it usually takes to reach cities in Central Europe.
The airline’s representative affirmed that the company has set a target of covering all of Europe's famous political and tourism centers by 2025.
At present, Bamboo Airways operates 40 domestic and international routes and possesses a fleet of 28 aircraft.
Since entering the industry, the airline has transported over 3 million passengers on over 20,000 safe flights, with an average on-time rate of 94.1 percent.
The fleet of Bamboo Airways is expected to rise to 30 aircraft during the first quarter of 2020, increasing further to 50 aircraft by the end of 2020, including 12 wide-body aircraft Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.
