From April 30 1975, the Republic of Vietnam was incorporated into an administrative unit called Saigon – Gia Dinh. On July 2 1976, the first National Assembly of Vietnam agreed to change the name of the country to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, and renamed Saigon – Gia Dinh City as “Ho Chi Minh City”, under the name of the first president, Ho Chi Minh.
Vietnam is located in the tropical monsoon zone, near the equator. However, Ho Chi Minh City does not have four seasons: Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter. There are only two seasons: the rainy season and dry season. The sun is not too harsh, the rain suddenly came and then quickly go. Therefore, every time is Ho Chi Minh tourist season.
Ho Chi Minh City is the place where economic activity is most active, leading the country in terms of economic growth. The city has a system of markets, shopping centers as diverse as Ben Thanh Market, Binh Tay Market, Diamond Plaza, Bitexco etc.
