Hai Phong is located near the East China Sea so it has a typical subtropical climate of northern Vietnam: hot and humid with heavy rains in summer, dry and cold in winters. The average humidity is over 80%, and the average rainfall is 1600-1800 mm per year. Hai Phong has four distinct seasons: Spring, summer, autumn, and winter. The average temperature of the hottest month in summer, July is 28.3 degrees Celsius, while the coldest month is January with 16.3 degrees Celsius.
