On the morning of August 30th, 2018, at the Head Office of Tourism, Deputy National Administration of Tourism Ha Van Sieu has a meeting with Mr. Jung Chang Wook – Chief Representative of Korea Tourism Office (KTO) in Vietnam.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Ha Van Sieu said that in the past few years, Vietnam’s tourism has grown strongly. In 2017, Vietnam’s tourism has received nearly 13 million international visitors, an increase of 29% as compared to 2016. This increase in visitor numbers has made a significant contribution from South Korean visitors. In 2017, the number of Korean visitors to Vietnam reached nearly 2.5 million, an increase of about 56% compared to 2016. Korean is also one of the key visitors to Vietnam tourism.

Mr. Ha Van Sieu expressed his desire that VNTO and KTO will have more cooperation and tourism promotion, thereby contributing to increasing the exchange of visitors between the two countries.

The representative of KTO in Vietnam Jung Chang Wook said that Vietnam is an important tourist market of Korea. In the past, KTO in Vietnam has many activities and events to promote including the great support of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism. In the coming time, KTO in Vietnam would like to cooperate with VNAT to organize promotional events promoting tourism in Hanoi and Seoul, introducing the potential tourism of the two countries. On this occasion, Ho Hyun, newly appointed as KTO’s deputy head in Vietnam, has greeted the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT).
