    1. Weather in Chau Doc, Vietnam

    Chau Doc is located within the climate of a sub-solar tropical area, with high and stable temperature as the typical characteristics of the Mekong Delta River climate. The weather is hot and humid throughout the year with an average temperature of 25oC - 29oC. The climate is divided into two distinct seasons: the rainy season from May to November coincides with the South West monsoon, the dry season from December to April next year coincides with the North East monsoon. The annual average rainfall is 1,130 mm (to be 1,700-1,800 mm at the highest); the annual average humidity is from 80 to 85% that varies according to the rain regulation. In general, the climate conditions here are favorable for agricultural development.

    With above climatic characteristics, Chau Doc is less affected by the typhoon. However, sitting at the junction of a tributary linking the Chau Doc Rivers and Hau Rivers, being bestowed by the alluvial river of Hau and having topography divided by vertical canals, Chau Doc is strongly influenced by the hydrological regime, which causes flooding and landslide.

    Traveling to Chau Doc at any time of the year, you will surely have the memorable experiences.

    Each season in Chau Doc will have its own attractions. Therefore, you do not have to be considered about the best time in Chau Doc. Just having some inspiration, taking the bag and traveling.

    a. From May to November - Floating season

    During the rainy season from May to November, it rains a lot in Chau Doc and in August there are chances of it flooding. If you're traveling in this season you will clearly see the lives of people in Chau Doc river region who are used to this occurrence but you also have to pay careful attention if you are unaccustomed to floods

    Most tourists are unlikely to visit Chau Doc in August. Backpackers willing to visit at these times will likely find it the least expensive month. This is also the least crowded time suitable for those who want to feel the full beauty of Chau Doc. 

    b. From December to April - Gardening season

    During the dry season from December to April, the weather is often sunny and hot, but the temperature is not so high as to hamper a pleasant tourist visit. You will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the gardens filled with fruit. 

    The busiest month for tourism in Chau Doc, Vietnam in January. Prices for accommodations and flights will be the most expensive during these months, though you can save if you purchase well in advance.
