Chau Doc is located within the climate of a sub-solar tropical area, with high and stable temperature as the typical characteristics of the Mekong Delta River climate. The weather is hot and humid throughout the year with an average temperature of 25oC - 29oC. The climate is divided into two distinct seasons: the rainy season from May to November coincides with the South West monsoon, the dry season from December to April next year coincides with the North East monsoon. The annual average rainfall is 1,130 mm (to be 1,700-1,800 mm at the highest); the annual average humidity is from 80 to 85% that varies according to the rain regulation. However, sitting at the junction of a tributary linking the Chau Doc Rivers and Hau Rivers, being bestowed by the alluvial river of Hau and having topography divided by vertical canals, Chau Doc is strongly influenced by the hydrological regime, which causes flooding and landslide.

During the dry season from December to April, the weather is often sunny and hot, but the temperature is not so high as to hamper a pleasant tourist visit. You will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the gardens filled with fruit. 

The busiest month for tourism in Chau Doc, Vietnam in January. Prices for accommodations and flights will be the most expensive during these months, though you can save if you purchase well in advance.
